I saw Colin last night in Aberdeen. Not a huge crowd but it was a very appreciative one. I think that the live set up really has stepped up a couple of notches
now. I had no complaints whatsoever before, but seriously, if anyone here has not seen the new set up, I urge you go to one of these shows. It really is worth
it. Some surprises in the set were a new version of Supermarket Strikes Back and Don't Take Your Love Away From Me. Be My Saviour sounded better than I
have ever heard it before. A great set list, which is now quite some feat with the depth he now has available to draw on. No I Tried, No HBILYM and there were
other omissions too but that didn't matter one bit when I was mesmerised last night at the gig. The whole sound is richer yet more direct - I don't
know how to pin it down exactly - I'm no musician. The keyboard sounds are different, more melodic, on many (not all) songs, backing vocals have been
reworked and sound very nice indeed, they are a very slick unit.
If you have tickets for one of the other shows, I'm very envious. |

i totally agree. couldnt fault colin at all. shame about the venue and lack of people. ive seen colin in aberdeen twice at the lemon tree (RIP) and one at the music hall and he had the place banging. he was just as good last night, but the venue was the worst i have ever been to. smelly, sticky carpets and we sat on one of the lap dancing podiums... colin, please come back, check there are no big gigs on on the same night and please dont go to moshulu again. |

On three separate occasions I walked out of my shoe as it was stuck to the carpet.
The dirtiest venue I have ever been in. I was last there about 15 years ago. Same carpet I reckon. |

Glad to hear such a positive reaction to the gigs. Unfortunately I've not been able to see any, but its good to hear they've gone down so well. Also
like the idea of reworking some of the older songs- guessing this will make them and the new stuff mould together better live.
Slightly concerned to hear that Moshulu is still that manky- surely its in violation of some kind of health and safety?!

Brilliant gig but what is it with audiences in Edinburgh? They have to talk all the time - especially through the quieter songs!

Wasn't the Lemon Tree an absolute arsehole of a venue as well? Only in it once, mind.
Still better thatn the AECC. What is it with Aberdeen and below par venues?

No, the Lemon tree is fine. Palatial by comparison.

Am I the only person in the world that thinks that King Tuts is a twenty four carat turd of a venue? Completely the wrong shape. ABC 1 sucks ass too.

yeah, it's a very poor design. There's no way antone would design it like that from scratch. It must be 2 or rooms that were knocked together.

Missed the Manchester gig last night, totally forgot about it. I'm just not feeling this new stuff.

Yep, King Tut's is poor. The capacity is nowhere near what they claim and it is still living on the glory of being where Oasis were discovered. Get over
it!!

I was going there long before Oasis was discovered and it had prestige or some sort of unexplained mystique even then. I suppose it's got something in that
many great bands have played there over the years. A mini Barras. But with poor design.

Unfortunately I can't make Borderline tonight, much as I would love to. I'm moving house and have to clean up my flat for a viewing tomorrow. This will
involve hoovering, I hate hoovering.

Was talking to my mate who has tickets for tonight but nobody to go with. I think I persuaded him it is worth going to alone.
I'd love to be there for that one. |

by the way, some time about now, Coin is playing at a Halls of Residence in Grenwich. It's the competition winner from the MySpace competition. I'll
put a feature up later.

mads96 and soh12- hullo and welcome to the board.
'by the way'?! Mark- wtf? Is there no colleration between what goes on on all these various websites? There's not been any news on the main page since the end of April, yet on myspace there's new announcements; who knew about this competition? I know myspace is the preferred place for many people regarding their favourite artists, but what's the point of having this website if it isn't going to updated? This applies to the blog too- isn't it possibly to integrate it into the site somehow to show something new has gone up instead of it being an entirely seperate link? Argh!!!

The competition was trailed in MySpace weeks months ago and was on the past two or three newsletters. This main site is being updated tonight with some of the
things that have appeared on some of the other sites and more. Personally I don't think all the sites should have exactly the same content (I appreciate
that's not what you are saying), there is little point in that in my opinion.

Having re-read my earlier post, apologies for coming across really nastily- wasn't the intention. I clearly missed the competition announcement in the
mailing lists, too. Think the thing that annoys me is having to go to various different places and sites to get all the news; seems more logical to have at
least one place which has all the information you need. Or at least, logical to me.

See that's the problem Anna. You're a woman and hence shouldn't try to be logical...
